1960’s Apartments Heat
up in Downtown Lincoln Nebraska with Cove Heaters
Comfort Cove electric radiant heaters provided the perfect
modern solution to the aged apartment units located downtown Lincoln Nebraska. Old
leaky windows, lower level garages and poor insulation are just a few factors
that lead to unhappy tenets with cold rooms and high electric bills. Here’s how
Comfort Cove heaters provided more thermal comfort in this application.
The Comfort Cove home heater uses radiant heat, Heat at
Light Speed®. Unlike
areas heated by a convection or space heater, radiant heat is less affected by air changes
or drafts. Since radiant heat does not rise like hot air, it heats
anything in its path - up, down, or sideways - traveling in a straight line
until it strikes an object. Radiant heat is unaffected by gravity, and will not
fluctuate temperature. This efficient heating alternative warms floors and
objects, as well as the air in a room, similar to the way the sun heats the
earth.
Comfort Cove Zone Control |
One of Comfort Cove heaters’ key benefits is it allows the user(s) ability to Zone Control each living space. This caters to varying lifestyles of the tenets or homeowners while giving users the option to only heat rooms that are being used, thus saving energy.
This 6 unit apartment floor plan was renovated with RadiantSystems Inc.’s Comfort Cove heaters. Cove heat costs less to retrofit than
other heating systems. Comfort Cove radiant heating systems evenly
spread radiant warmth throughout a room so placement is not critical. As shown below for this layout, interior
walls can be unitized as heater locations, which reduces material and labor
costs. Comfort Cove heaters mount high on the wall near the ceiling and out of
the way making these heaters an ideal choice apartment heating.
